Just got the change oil soon light...1200 miles after the dealer "changed" it. Im at 38000 and plan on doing OEM oil filter and fuel filters. I have had good experiences with schaeffer's in gas engine and my 6.0 but just want to make sure the 6.7 isn't as picky as my wife when it comes to lube. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, maybe even links to fuel filter replacement and oil change. More then capable to do it myself I just like to research so I don't have any unexpected surprises. Thanks in advance!

Schaeffer's is great oil, no worries. Oil change is standard, drain oil, change filter and refill. Fuel filters, drain the lower fuel bowl and spin the filter off, it's a 36mm socket if I remember right. Put the new cartridge in. Go to the top, disconnect the push to connect lines and the filter will only turn like 1/4 turn and lift out. Drop the new one in, connect the lines and turn the key on. Leave key on for 20 seconds, shut off and do that 5 times to purge air. Start right up.

The dealer probably forgot to reset the oil life monitor on the dash.

Forgot to mention backing the lower bowl/housing off three turns before trying to drain...it won't stop draining otherwise, so I read. You also may or may not have an 8mm bolt securing the upper filter in addition to the slight turn.

Running LE 8854...Jim says Schaeffer's is good too. I was looking at running until investigating LE more.

No worries. Only reason I remembered was the you tube vids I watched until I was sick of watching them, and comments on here. I was terrified I was gonna screw up and thought there was no way it could be that simple. I cycled the key many more times than recommended and it still took a bit longer to crank. Filters squealed/hummed/whatever for the first two drive cycles around town, then quit.

OP, somewhere there's a thread on here discussing fuel filter changes, or fuel system noise after change. That what I read and watched vids posted there and some of the related YouTube vids.

Awsome guys, thanks for the info. As for searching on here, when I click the search tab it opens a search box but when I click on it to type it disappears...Maybe because I'm using my phone? Anyways sounds pretty cut and dry. Remove, drain, replace, purge and go.
