Im not too keen on what these metals could be coming from, but Im more just wondering here than concerned since they didnt seem too concerned really either.

The Lead, Tin, Aluminum and Iron are all some what over the averages... Any idea on why? Could it be coming from ANY bearing in the motor, or are there ones that are more prone to show this kind of wear?

The truck only has 50k on it lol, I would hope there isnt a bearing ****tin' the bed already. Could the lead be from a turbo bearing? Its an 03 turbo on my truck and I dont know how old it is/was when I installed it...

I don't see the concern. At 7500 miles it's reading good enough for them to tell you to go to 9k. This is a prime example of why using a good oil at 7500 mile changes WORKS. I would even say you can go 10k IF you really had a good reason not to change the oil. (family emergency, flooding, fire, etc etc)

He even calls out the Lead reading a potential fluke.

True but if you poke around BITOG you will see others having the same concern. I guess Im thinking ahead here, trying to be proactive. If there is a bearing issue within the motor, Id like to get it fixed now. Im going to be doing studs soon, and Id jump the gun on that, injectors, new turbo etc and fix the other issue first. I mean Im guessing it could be from the bearing in the turbo too, or a fluke.

I just dont want the truck to not last if I can fix it prior, ya know?

With 50k if a bearing is going South it's not going to be pretty. Can you drive it more to get to another oil change to see what happens with the sample??

The bearing in the turbo is brass. The particle count may have increased slightly due to an increased oil change interval. I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks guys. And I dont drive that much except to work. Im going to run the next OCI to 7000-7500mi so I can have pretty much the same control over the test. They wanted me to go to 9000mi, but to me I wanted to keep the mileage the same to have the same "wear and tear " on the oil between this result and the future result

Yeah there are quiet a few of trucks that Ive seen have high lead. They are all 6.0s. I mean some that are crazy high yeah, but seen quiet a few with numbers around mine..

Also, I keep reading some fuel additives can cause higher lead levels, how?

I was running Opti-lube ( waste of money IMO ) now Im running Distance.

I also talked to Archoil guys last OCI and they said that Archoil additive can dissolve residual metals, so maybe its the Archoil from the first OCI on that sheet in the OP.. Maybe its still workin?
