They also don't have a rubber bladder in them like the factory ones do. Plus one of the steps in installing the aftermarket hubs is the disable the vacuum to the hubs anyway as it will suck up crap (water, mud, etc) into the hub area if you don't. All of this is strictly for the lock in/out of the hubs. The knob for you 4wd still works the transfer case either way so you can still go into and out of 4wd via that.
