Backpressure Manual trans vs Auto trans

Been comparing specs from my 6.4L auto to my buddies 6.4L manual transmission and for some reason he seems to be running higher BP. Pulling a hill with 10k he is seeing 60 psi BP and 42 psi boost running Spartan 210 with an Elite atmosphere. When he gets on it he is seeing up to 72psi in that same tune. Any chance it is because of the transmission? Even taking off normal through the gears it is getting up to 50 psi back pressure. I am always at least 10-15 psi less than him with the same set up. Thoughts?

You running the same tune in both?

I was wondering if it because its a manual transmission? It would affect turbo spool diffrently i would think.

Yeah, same tuning in both. But I have run KEM, Gearhead, Spartan, and Innovative and none seem to be that high.

My EBP runs high too. I figure it's because the clutch is always locked up.

Maybe they keep the vgt tighter to help with spooling after shifts in the manual tunes. Watch the vgt duty cycle between them and see if there is much of a difference.
