I just bought my 05 6.0 and the guy had a banks six gun with pda with it. Has the harness hooked up under the hood however never used it. My issue is......how do I make sure its back to stock so I can ditch it? Cause I'm aware of what sct tunes do. I can't find a stock programming tune option on the pda.....if I just unplug it under the hood will it go back to stock?

The pda isn't the best....slow and have to hit buttons a few times to work. I just want the sct with Erics tunes but need this removed first!

I have run into problems in the past after taking Banks "off", then not being able to tune with SCT.

SCT stated that there must be some "trace" left in by the Banks kit, but I could not verify that. We ended up using Ford module programming to reflash the truck to stock, then loaded SCT.

Guess try removing all of the Banks stuff, then try and tune with SCT. If it doesn't work then you may have to have the truck reflashed.

the banks is a wire in tuner and does not affect the factory computer at all. basically it hard wires in and interrupts sensor output and modifies it before sending it on to the pcm.

the only way your banks kit it fully out of the vehicle is if the main wire harness that plugs into the pcm (also a jumper harness gets removed) and the harness that crosses over to the pass side of the engine is gone. it require removing the drivers side battery.
