My batt light on my 96 f350 comes on and goes off. It'll stay off for an hour then flicker and come on for an hour. It tends to flicker when I hit bumps. Both batt and the alt are new. Could the light be grounding out? It runs good starts good. Anything else to look for?

Mine was the little plug on top of the alt causing it to go on and off. In a certain position it wouldn't come on but if it moved a little the light would come on

That's the wire that goes directly to the light correct? I've unplugged it and rep lugged it a couple times. Does the same thing after I tried that. Did you replace yours or put a little connection grease in it?

I'll check tomorrow which one it is exactly. No never replaced it, I always had good voltage so I never worried about it at the time

That wire had chafed on my rig and the wire near the end looked like crap. I ended up pulling back the harness until I found good wire and soldered some new wire in. It works like a champ now. I believe the wire is green with a red or orange tracer.

Wire looks good, the plug is missing it's clip so it doesn't really hold it down. If I push it in good it will stay off till I hit a bump. And in this OBS even a small bump feels like a big one lol
I'll have to look, I'm not sure if ford will sell the plug without the wire. I think it's easier to solder it on then pull the whole wire

I know that you can buy new pig tails. If you have the right pin puller you might be able to just get the pigtail and pop the pins out and put the existing pins in.
