Has anybody put the standard commercial battery in your truck When doing a battery relocation? It would help a lot to always have a charged battery in my truck if I ever need to lend one out on a job. my concern is about the alternater.

on another note. I'm putting new rings in the motor. so now that It has a new start what oil should I use? normal out side temps vary from 30s to 90s. I know there's a fluids action But I figured since Its brand new rings. thanks

Are you talking about running a 3rd battery to have one available to lend out if needed?

I would imagine that if it's at full charge when you put it in there the alternator should be able to keep up with it. It'll still take the same amount of juice to crank your truck, you'll just be pulling from a deeper well with the extra battery.

Now if they all get low on charge your alt will hate life trying to fill that well back up.

Nah. Imma just relocate the front two batteries out and relocate them to the toolbox to give me more room up front. And I buy the commercial batteries by the pallet full. all will be brand new going in And Ill only put two in. one will crank the truck no problem. It never gets that cold in nc
