Jonathan (im sure some of yall know of him) has been telling me to put one of his chips on my truck for a while now each time Im at the shop tuning a gasser on his dyno. Well last night I told him to send me home with one after we pulled a car off the dyno. When I got home I pulled the parking brake to see duct tape covering the hole on the ecu, which makes since considering all of the other stuff that was done to my truck I figured the previous owner must have had a tuner on it before I bought it.

It has a banks intercooler, 3" downpipe, cowl hood (i know, not much performance there lol), banks filter, egt, trans temp, boost gauge, Rear locker, and the tranny pan and rear end cover are mag-hytec or whatever.

Anyways I popped the chip in and I cannot believe what a difference it made. Now only just in power but it is just so much more driveable now. It shifts great and it makes power very linear where before it seemed like I needed to stab the gas to take off and then back out slowly or it would keep accelerating. It just drives like it should, like a truck, not a tractor or piece of equipment.

The turbo spools very fast and it actually makes smoke now. I cant believe I waited this long to get a chip. I have my fast cars already and I didnt see the need to make my truck fast, but it isnt all about that. The anty theft, high idle, wisper mode and all that will be well worth the cost of the chip but the power it now has and how smooth it shifts are incredible.
I cannot wait until we have some time to play around with it on the dyno!

Jonathan does great work. He live tuned my truck last summer and I picked up almost 50 hp over my old tunes. I love it.

Hey is your hood fiberglass? I have a fiberglass cowl hood and it didnt come with springs on it and i was guessing the tension is too much. What have you done as far as a hood prop, mine is ghetto right now. I either want to make something or go to the junk yard to find something that will work but last time i went to the junk yard i didnt see anything that seemed like it would work good.

Yep its fiberglass. It's a Cervini's hood. Here is a great article on how to use struts for a ranger hood. When I get my truck back from the body shop I'm going to install a set. They're not too expensive either.
