So I just replaced my water pump & had to remove the belt (of course). It didn't squeak and it is fairly new. Is the tensioner pulley adjustable at all? Or is it only going to go to that set spot? Any ideas? Thanks.

The tensioner is not adjustable but does lose tension over time. Options are to replace it with another or do the SD tensioner upgrade.

If you got coolant on the belt it will never stop squeaking. You will need to replace it.

Ah chit. Will it ever be anything to worry about? I also forgot to mention that when it gets running & warming up, it will go away.

That sounds like the tensioner. Mine did the same thing at about 120k miles. At 127k miles it stopped going away and just chirped all the time. A new belt was only a temp fix and the chirp came back within 1k miles.

A new tensioner and no chirp cold or warm.

I did the Sd tensioner up grade.

It is a good idea to check the tensioners also, if they are all good replace the belt. I had this happen on 2 different trucks one with a new belt also. When I was flushing the system coolant got on the belts and squeaked until I changed them. Other than it being annoying I think its ok.

My belt never squeaked before this. I am almost positive I got coolant on the belt. Thanks for all your input!
