I completed my regulated return and electric fuel system about a month ago now. I am holding a good 75 PSI at idle. I have an in cab fuel PSI gauge on the way so I can see what my fuel PSI is doing under load.

My question is, what would be the benefit of adding a second 7.3 electric pump to my truck with stock injectors? Would it be a waste of time?

The only thing I could see is that if for whatever reason one pump fails, I could still get home on the second.

You will not need a second pump with stock injectors. I had one SD pump with stage 1 injectors for years with a in cab fuel psi. gauge and the needle would never move, not even a pound.

Mine will sometimes drop pressure just a little on a launch. I think it has to do with fuel slosh in the tank.

Tom it must have been the fuel sloshing, I put around 75,000 miles on mine with Stage 1's and never seen the needle move until I put the new motor and injectors in. With the new settup my fuel pressure would drop as fast as my boost rose above 15 psi. With the dual SD pumps the pressure holds good.
