Run it by itself with a pre and post pump filter, theres no need for a low pressure system, it will do just fine on its own. Which pump are you looking at? I recommend a sump for the pump to draw from, these pumps need minimum -10 (5/8) fuel line supplying the pump, I dont recommend using the larger pickup tubes, i've never experienced one that didnt suck air on low fuel tank levels.

My 5/8's pick up tube works fine and I've never sucked air. But if I was doing it over I would buy a sump.

Pre and post pump filters and a sump for sure. Theses pumps aren't made to lift. They need to pull from a gravity fed sump. Call up jake@irate diesel. He's a sponsor on here and he will hook you up with a setup all put together ready to go

I have all 1/2" before the pump. The irate kit was set up that way. And I got my sump from beans and I called and got em to put a 1/2" fitting on it opposed to the 5/8" they produce them with

i have my fuelab being fed by a low pressure FASS pump. Dennis at Strictly Diesel actually recommended the fuelab pump be used with a low pressure pusher pump. I've been running it like this for over 3 years....awesome setup. I have 5/8" line from my Hellmann's sump into my low pressure FASS. Then 5/8 line from FASS and into fuelab pump. Then 1/2" line out of fuelab and into Y-block. Then two 3/8" lines out of Y-block going straight to front of heads.

The pump sits higher than the sump, so not quite gravity fed still...

I agree. I tried to mount the pump as low as I could. But it's not near as much lift as it would be through a straw

It is gravity fed, the weight of all the fuel pushing down creates a syphon which helps push the fuel from the sump up to the pump. The more fuel in the tank, the less the pump has to pull. Its hardly pulling anything compared to a straw..
