Biggest for 94-97 is a D66. Basically a modified stocker
I'd look into a T4 setup.
Size depends on hp goal, use, supporting mods, WALLET!

Your pretty limited on the OBS for stock drop in's. Like said above, you can do a D66. IMO, it all depends on what your wanting out of the truck. T4 up-pipes and turbo combo can get the ball rolling and you have a variety of chargers and sizes to play with from there. S366 has been a good charger on the 7.3's with the proper fueling and tuning. I'd also really consider an intercooler kit. Let me know if you need anything.

pricing put me out of the t 4 set up, with that and a turbo I just couldn't see or justify over 3k in that set up.
It all depends on your final goal, what do you want it to do and how deep are your pockets?

If your staying with stock sticks then I agree.
But if your upgrading to a 160/30-100 or 230/80-100 then T4 is where it's at. Solid platform for fun. I loved my 160/100 and billet s366 combo. Towed great, decent mpg, speed, and pulled the sleds well.

I just installed 238/100's and I'm going to give the d66 a try and see, based on how bad it ran before, even the 238/100 with stock tuning makes it feel like a race car. I have no doubt the t4 would be better, but after dumping so much into it I hate to see another 3k plus go to something I use on weekends.

maybe in time, we will see.

You spent the $ on the hybrids. Should spend the $ to properly match them to a turbo that will clean them up and optimize efficiency.
It's like putting a big lift on a truck, but running 1 size tire above factory because them tires are cheaper

we will see, they can be detuned and have them for later if I decide to do it, they were on sale, couldn't pass it up thru PIS

Not to rain on anybody's parade here, but I just went through this dilema and its not near 3k for an s366 setup. You can pick up a brand new twin scroll s366 in either a .88 or .91 all day long on ebay for $620 shipped. Don't accidently purchase a single scroll...

If you are handy enough to fab you own IC pipes( four (4) 3" 90's and two welds) and intake wye(shaved 99+ x pipe 30-80$ on ebay. or 15$ 3" u bend and 4 cuts and 1 weld), a set of bellowed up pipes and a T4 mount with oil lines included with all mounting hardware and boots runs under $900 from reputable vendor. Have your oil lines built at a big rig shop and save yourself another $60 bucks off the $900 figure. Include your 620$ turbo you are between 1500-1600 bucks. This is near half of 3 grand, and if you are thrifty and spend maybe 4 hours of fab time you can shave it down to half the cost of a BASB kit.

I wanted to do the BASB, but couldn't justify a turbo of that additional cost over the 366. Both are rebuildable for under a 100$ too which is nice.

That being said don't be an idiot like myself and try to make the stocker a polished turd. For stock sticks its fine, at altitude it wouldn't clean up my stage ones. With a deleted pedestal, worthless wheel dos, and rebuild kit, i was just shy of costs that could have bought s366 to start with. Luckily it will go on my brothers truck when his toasts.

The 366 has been tried and true turbo for stage 1 and 2 injectors. Its a streetable and well behaved towing turbo. The BASB is like the Bugatti of 366's :) I have nothing against it!

Hope that helps, there are much bigger and better turbos out there, don't get me wrong at all, but for an affordable streetable/towing setup it seems the 366 has been the choice of many.

It's built on the s300 frame but different tubines and compressor wheels.

The BASB starts to spool at a lower rpm vs the s366. The BASB is more of a towing turbo. The BASB flows slightly more than 1200cfm compared to 1100 cfm from the 366.

s366 spec, T4 flange, .91 exhaust housing (standard)
Turbine:
- Exducer 73mm
- Inducer 80mm

Compressor:
- Exducer 91.4mm
- Inducer 66mm

BASB spec, T4 flange, 1.10 exhaust housing
Note: very little info is available on the BASB
Turbine:?????
- Exducer 68mm
- Inducer 74mm

Compressor (ZQ wheel)
- Exducer ????
- Inducer ????

Billy, the basb is advertised for slightly over 1200 cfm, but I was told it was actually close to 1350cfm, not sure why they don't change the description for purchasing. I was also told it was an improved zq wheel, but no specifics. Like Billy said, not much Info available easily

The BASB is supposed to be the t4 version of the t4i HFSB, so if anyone has any other info on it, I wold assume it's shared. Apparently the t4 supposedly spools faster than the longer scroll t4i turbine housings

Not never measured as I didn't want to take apart the turbo.

When I go to PRI this year, I'll inquire about the ZQ wheel.

I've hit 35lbs of boost with my BASB pretty easily then I have to get out of it since I'm going too fast. If I kept in it, the boost would've gone higher.

I towed approximately 5k the other day and kept it in the economy tune. It was very hard to get the EGTs over 1,000*.
