I put the billit fuel filter caps on and they are stuck, they welded them selfs on, any others have this happen? Do you put anything on the caps before you installed them?

Hhmm, have put several of these on with no issues when they come back for maintenence. Do have a socket for them though. Have had some that were harder than others to let go, but they have always come loose. How hard have you tried to push it to get it loose?

It sounds like sand when I turned it, the lower one was turning the pump. Oil cap was tight, but came off.

When did you install these? I see you're up in the rockies. How hard did they sand/salt the roads this year? Wondering if you don't have a corrossion issue too, and that's why they are fighting so bad. I know if it was me I would of left the factory one on the pump just because of that. Especially up there, and heck even down here for that matter. Just to much spray for the tires.

Not sure when I put them on, but the truck hasn't seen any bad weather other than rain in over a year. It stays in a shop alot.

Well that kinda ruels that out, but it still could just be corrossion from sitting too. Plus it's two like surfaces so it would be more pron to siezing. Tried any type of penetrants yet?

Just be careful. Ive cracked my fuel bowl, tigtening a fuel sender. Thats when I opted for the billet caps. If it was oil, I would say get a burner, and heat it up. Hell, drive the truck until it gets to operating temp, then try to break them loose again.

I bought one when i cracked mine. IIRC, it was $192. LOL Thats the number that sticks out in my head. At first I thought $300, but I got some kind of deal at the stealership.

Primary fuel filter cap and oil filter cap: 3C3Z-6766-A
Secondary fuel filter cap: 3C3Z-9G270-AA

Check with Sunrise the Ford sponsor. Tousley has the primary for $5.50. The secondary is listed for $33.

i have the aluminum cap and havent had that problem...but remember, aluminum expands and contracts in extreme heat and cold...i would imagine if youre someplace cold and you drive the truck around and then let it sit overnight in the cold it would expand enough to bind up...i would try a little lithium grease around the threads and try to take it off when the truck has reached normal operating temp...jeep tried to put aluminum axle housings in their rigs some years back but that quickly failed due to the leaks at the seals because of the expansion of the aluminum...im sure thats what has happened here
