Black lightning stage 3 from tec turbo

What does anyone know about these.... I bought an engine with 190s and one of these turbos and I dont know a thing about these turbos.... Good or bad?

Me neither. Havent heard anything on that turbo. I have heard from my ricer guys that TEC turbos are pretty good but nothing other than quality for translating to our use. I have wondered a lot about these turbos and never heard of anyone even mentioning them. I do know that their "turbos" are actually "turbo modifications" as opposed to a completely new manufactured turbo. So like Madpowerstroke, TEC requires you to either send your turbo in to be modified or pay their core charge.

You can go to their web site,type TEC TURBO on search to find them.I have never heard of anyone running their turbos,they sound by the description to be good.You have the biggest one they make 66mm/96mm compressor wheel,and 77 turbine.70lbs/min @2.5 psi 70% efficient.Goes for 2499.00 + 500.00 core.Let us know how it runs.

I had thought about getting one of these turbos before I ended up running into this MAD guy Adrian. Now I just gotta wait and see how deep his MAD rabbit hole goes. LOL LOL

Well bad news.... I think I got screwed on the engine I bought.... Assembled with black onyx gaskets, the turbo appear s to be factory with the compressor housing painted black.... Going to pull the injectors and have them flowed

you will be able to tell if they are A/M injectors, throw some pics up when they are out, No need to flow stock sticks. Sucks about the turbo, but if the motor was put together right the BO gaskets will hold, but if you have the coin and time swap them, remember, hardened valve seats are a must, if you can't pop for them now, save up and do Ford gaskets and seats as your budget permits.

Ok, thanks guys..... The black onyx will have to live for now.... Wont be able to get to wild on power levels anyway... Trans is coming out this winter to be built

You guys were talking about TEC's turbos..... I sent mine in and they built mine to be the silver lightning. 64.7 mm inducer 80 mm exducer. Down low egts are a lil high but I'm running an xtreme street tune. But once you get it spoiled up that turbo screams like a jet engine hit almost 40 psi of boost on it a few times just to playing around and my egt never went over 1250. Didn't stay in the throttle much longer to see how much higher it would go but the guys at TEC said it will do 45 psi and support 650 hp
