What is the size of the bolt head that holds the pcm in place on a 7.3. You know the hard to get one from the engine bay that needs to be unbolted so i can put my new Gearhead chip in.:pimp:

I dont have any of my tools here at school, so i will just run to local hardware store and buy a socket and rachet, can never have enough anyway, and swap it while im here since ive been dieing to change tunes.

Oh and will i need a extention, its been 3 years since i have changed the chip.

Ill tell ya a little story about them nut drivers. I was pulling my driveshaft last spring to get it rebuilt and put new hardware on it. I tried a 8mm 6pt socket to get the pinion flange bolts out and they were getting rounded off. I used those new craftsman sockets that are a bunch of points, splined jobbies. They were rounding them off worse. Pb blaster abound, heat, heat, and more heat they werent coming out. I grabbed my Husky brand(home cheapo house brand) 8mm nut driver and put it onto the troublesome bolts. Grabbex the handle with a channelock pliers and slowly turned those mothers out. If ya get fancy snapon ones the have a spot to put a wrench on their screwdrivers/nutdrivers.

I will have to check them out. Only thing i have is a screw driver that has the 1/4 driver on the end and you put the socket on it.

Those will suffice. I like the purpose built nut drivers simply because the socketed part is NOT coming off. Ever!

I looked in my new craftsman toolset and the 1/4" handle, like what you speak of, has a spot in the top of the handle for a 1/4" ratchet.
