boost slowly getting lower.

when i first bought the truck it would climb up to 22-24psi of boost... 10,000 miles later it barely hits 20psi wot... dont know if its a leak or not but after the turbo lights the boost gauge jumps to 19-20psi and stops.

anyone else have this happen?

I was driving home tonight and thought of this thread so tested the truck out. Mine did the same thing as yours...19-20psi and holding. I was in Tow/Haul mode, not sure if that would mean the boost was limited? Anyway its not just you.

mine does it no matter what.

im not sure but i thought i read a thread or something online about the wastegate loosening up and limiting boost but i cant find the info i read before...

Yup my truck does the same thing no matter if im empty or hauling something, cant build more that 20 psi of boost.

Not sure if this helps but according to my Edge(used to monitor my PCM), it always states a maximum of 24psi at wot HOWEVER according to my manual gauge I am hitting just under 35psi(detuned).
The PCM is seeing the max for defuel of 24psi(Edge) but it runs about 10psig higher.

aside from a few leaves, that i blew out with the air hose, its clean. filter minder hasnt moved a lick. although i never trusted those things on my 7.3s, maybe i should go ahead and try a new filter....

The factory wastegate setting is 21psi...in certain situations and environments it can make more...but most of the time the oem tune won't make more than 21

Ok. Guess I didnt know it was supposed to be so low. Like I mentioned before, it was higher when new. But now 20psi is it..

my truck will just barely do over 20 psi on certain shifts more than most it runs 18 psi or so.

You other guys posting numbers tuned is that with the dpf on?
