Whats the main reasoning behind using them on a diesel, take some stress off the turbo when you have to let off when underboost?

Everything including the BOV should come with the kit to fully install it. Turbosmart, JGS, turbonetics and BD are just a few.

I have a JGS BOV.

Way easier than others as there is no electronics to hook up.

You just need a particle filter for the drive pressure side, and a small regulator for the boost side. Plus plumbing it in I guess...but you have to do that to all of them.

Hook the top port of the BOV to the drive pressure, and the bottom to the boost pressure. (Only need to have the reg set to about 6 psi for it to be working properly...any more, and it will lift all the time...even while accellerating.

Unhooking the boost pressure will prevent it from opening at all.

Did you buy this from jgs? I see it on their website. 310 for the kit, 50 for installation kit. Not too bad. Did you need to weld anything other than the flange for the Bob itself? Or can you just tap and seal the fittings for boost and drive reference?

I got mine from JGS.
I already had a filter installed for a drive pressure gauge...I just tee'd into the outlet of the filter for the top port.
Yes, I had a BOV flange/pipe connection made out of mild steel...never used the aluminum one that came with the BOV. Drilled the hole in the pipe, and tig'd it on. (Screwed up the ceramic coating, but I think I'm going to get the cold pipes chrome plated this winter as I don't like the way the ceramic coating is turning a dull grey color.)

Not with me. (Just checked my phone.) I thought I took a picture of it, but I did not. I can ask the wife to take a couple and send them to me to post up.

Have you guys noticed any negative effects of having a BOV(I.e. losing boost at shift points or in traffic when you let off suddenly thn have to get back in the throttle)? I know the sound awesome but fuunctionally, would you say it was worth the time and money?

This is what I want to know. I like the idea of the sound and being better on the turbo but if there are many negatives I wouldn't do it.

the bd one is a 50mm

as far as function, I originally had an issue with it opening too soon, and at shift, once I got a hold of BD, and they explained how to set the electronics of it, its pretty nice. I have no complaints. I was having a turbo surging problem so this was a good fix for that.

now it seems to work well with the compounds as well. just need to tweek it a bit
