Brake calipers sticking at stop?

This is happening more frequent now where if I'm at idle at a light on level ground or uphill the calipers stick. I can fully let go of the brake and sit there and then a few seconds later, like 1-2 seconds it finally releases and it engages and drives again. I can hear it clearly sticking on release from the pads.

Anyone else have this issue? Just curious before I take it in.

What year is your truck. Mine does it also it's a 2015 has 6k miles on it seems to only do it when I'm completely stopped and foot is on the pedal for more than 10 seconds

I know it is suppose to do it if you are sitting on a hill. It is called hill start assist or something along those lines. Mine does it when I'm sitting about about a 2 degree angle going off the center info display. If it is doing it on level ground I would think your sensor is messing up.

In a 2015. Good to hear (but not in a bad way) that someone else is having the same thing happen in the '15. It's annoying as hell and I want it gone. I hit the damn gas and get a rev then in gear again. So damn annoying!!!! I plan to take it in and show them. I can make it happen at will at this point by hitting the breaks just right. I feel like the soccer mom at the light that won't put her damn cell phone down when the light turns green to go! If they honk, I'll smoke them :)

Wonder if it has to do something with the leveling kit? Since the front end is a bit elevated from stock?

It might be just high enough it is making your sensor think you are running up hill. I would think it should so how much of an angle you are running on the center display.

I think you might be on to something didn't really notice it till I installed the leveling kit. It's 2.5 block so it's a bit higher in the front

I know my 6.7 does it and I know the display has showed 1 or 2 degree angle when my brakes hold. So I'm willing to bet your leveling kits might just have it sitting high enough in the front compared to the rear so it is throwing it off.

^^ That is a good point. I wonder what would be causing it to do it? It really sounds like the truck is acting like it is sitting on a hill and holding the brakes. If it doesn't work run it up to ford and see what they say.

Could be a simple calibration issue hopefully. Have heard this issue mentioned quite a few times now. I hope all of you get it figured out!

Mine does the same thing too. 2011 F350. I thought if you had the hill decent feature, you should have the button over by your traction control button. I do not have a button for hill decent so I dont think that could be it. Not sure why it does it. May be some type of safety feature. Keep us posted on what your dealer finds. Mine has done this since Ive owned it, but never knew why. My truck does not have a leveling kit but will be installing one next week actually. May check to see if it makes any changes to it. You mentioned yours does it on level ground, but it seems like mine will only do it when there is the tiniest incline or more. So never happened on level ground. But as soon as I touch the throttle, the brake releases and everythings fine.

I think it also senses wheel speed and brake pressure and knows that if your applying more than normal pressure to keep them held. It's really not that big of a deal and works great when you are loaded heavy. My truck is leveled and there are very few places that it actually activates on.

My 15 is leveled and it does it anywhere that's not flat. I don't like it or feel the need for it. Not a huge deal though.
