I believe they have to be installed JUST right for them to be effective. The hassle that goes with the install along with the high error rate is probably the cause for many not wanting to deal with them. In truth, all you need is the OEM gaskets, quality studs, and a quality shop the will do the work right the first time. If you're one to beat on your truck everyday and race it all the time, eventually you will pop through the studs and have to do it again someday because there's simply not enough bolts holding the head down to the block and thats just something you just have to accept. If you're not the one to abuse the truck, they'll last you a lifetime.
