Well i lowered my truck down on sunday to match the tires i bought a while back, i was running an icon 7" with 37x13.50r22, and went down to a 325/50r22, and now dropped it down to a 4.5 now that clearing the carwash with cablights isnt a problem i think i want to add them, ive installed them before when i worked at the dealer so install isnt a problem im just not sure on look what do you guys think? recon smoked cab lights on my amarillo?

Smoked would look good but ive heard oem bases with recon lense is the best combo. I guess recon bases look bad after a while because they fade

Definitely the oem bases with either those smoked with paint or with recon lenses. I installed the whole recon thing on my truck, sealed them with silicone and they still randomly stop working and come back on a couple days later. Annoying to say the least.

these are recons I tore off of my f150, had them for 5 years. No issues. I can get another pic if you want after work.

I would go with smoked lenses (goes with the wheels and dark tint on the truck, plus black goes good with yellow)

I can't dispute the bad reputation recon has gotten from a lot of people but my recon cab lights have been on the truck for over 3 years with no leaks and no discoloration or peeling or anything bad. Only thing I didn't like about them was no mounting hardware so I had to get some nuts and bolts and a helper to get them mounted up.

I didnt like the way the Recons base sat on the roof. It didnt fit flush to the contour of the roof. So does the OEM have a better fit? Any others out there thats worth looking at? Looking into some cab light also.

i agree mine didnt fit the contour super well, i just got some clear silicone on the bottom of the base, so far no leaks and we have had some really knarly rain storms.. but my cab is tall so you cant see them anyways.

So is the dealer the only place to get OEM lights? Any others out there that fit like OEM's?

either than or off a truck in a wrecking yard, i imagine sunrise can get you a good deal. the other annoying thing about the recons that i dont like is the lights are part of the housing so if a led goes caput i dont know how ill remedy that, i dont think they offer single lights, only kits.
