My truck currently doesn't have them and I have a recon set on the way to put on it. Where do these things hook up to? Is there a plug under the dash or am I going to have to splice them in?

I have done several sets, and I've wired them into the switch every time. I'm not sure if there is a plug or not.

Theres a grey plug behind the passenger kick panel. It will have a brown and black wire running into it. The brown is park ligths the black ground. All trucks have this plug even if it didnt have factory cab lights.

When I do them I always get the factory harness and run it up the A pillar to whatever cab lights Im using. IMO it just does a much cleaner job with it.

the factory harness will need splicing for the recon unit IIRC?

the recon harness was ok just electrical taped together .. it was the mismatched plugs that I had an issue with

they also didn't include the inserts for the screws but the screws sucked anyways

not sure if they updated their kits http://www.powerstroke.org/forum/99...cussion/112464-mounting-recon-cab-lights.html

if I ever do it again ( might have to since they all have moisture inside ) I am going OEM with smoked lenses and Led replacement bulbs

I agree with this. The aftermarket lights dont bolt in place like factory does. I usally modify the aftermarket cab light harness to use the factory harness. That way if I need/want to use the factory bases I can reuse the harness.

IMO. The best setup is factory bases with whatever lens you want on it. My personal truck is the factory base with smoked lenes and led amber bulbs. No moisture ever to date. The aftermarkert ones seem to only last a year or 2 at best.

Atomic's about 300 bucks look cool and have good feedback http://youtu.be/8_728D_wuLE

I am not sure how long the recons electrical board will hold up with moisture so I might be able to try those soon

I was thinking on the lines off hauling farm wagons at night. To many idiots on the road, got to light everything up so you can be seen for miles away just to cover your own ass now a days.
May have to ask a local state boy and find out.

I hope these lights last. I wasn't too happy with the last recon product I had but I figured I'd give them another chance.

Ya I gave Recon a last chance last time

I am done they flood the market with glitter and don't spend the time to make their parts decent IMHO
