No. It will smoke the pump and likely destroy the converter neck due to lack of lubrication and send garbage through the whole trans and cooler circuits.

Or is it a stick truck? Either way bad idea.

If it is manual, put it in gear and try and roll the truck.

See if you can turn the driveshaft by hand in neutral with all wheels on ground. If you can there's a diff issue.

You won't be able to turn the driveshaft with all wheels on the ground even if. The Trans is removed from the truck. The driveshaft is attached to the rear end which is attatched to the rear wheels. They're on the ground lol

If the rear end has a broken axle, you will be able to turn the drive shaft while the wheels are on the ground and the trans is in neutral.

Why do you think some tow truck drivers pull axle bolts when towing with rear wheels on the ground?

To not drive the transmission and not have to take the d/s out.

As I said. If the d/s can be turned with the wheels on the ground, there is likely a DIFFERENTIAL issue.

I stand corrected. I thought I read "if you can turn the driveshaft, Theres deff an issue"
My appologies. Too used to people abbreviating everything they type nowadays.
