It's a non complex pedistal and it keeps leaking at the block and the charger center section even with new orings. I had a problem keeping them sealed up when I ran dino but now that I have synthetic it leaks even worse.

I have torqued the ped to the block at about 20 lbs and the charger to pedistal is at 45:eek:

I didn't notice any scoring on the charger center section or the sealing surface of the pedistal to block.

Any ideas on what I am missing. it isn't just a little damp spot on the top of the pedistal, it is running down to the tc inspection cover.

Check for flat mating surface. Are you putting a dab of grease on the o-rings to hold them in place during assembly?

Not flat or the O ring groves are not in-spec is my thoughts.

I didn't use any grease this time as I didn't have the collectoron the uppies so I was able to sit it right down. It isn't flowing enough to soak the underside of the truck or anything so I think the orings are where they are supposed to be.

I guess I need to take a closer look at the mating surface on the pedistal and the oring grooves. There has to be a deformity somewhere.

How would I go about smoothing out the contact surface on the bottom of the pedistal?

Also, would it be inasnely stupid to use a very thin bead of rtv in the ring groove on the block and again on the pedistal?

I might take it to a machine shop that surfaces heads on a large belt sander. I might also try it at home with sandpaper on nice flat surface. I have done that with other simiilar items successfully.
