Advertised as a high flow cat. Exactly how "high flow", is high flow? Recently purchased a truck with this cat. Thinking it should be gutted.

id never trust high flows, my buddy has had 6 of them on his gasser and they all blow out within 1k-3k miles in his case.

That's a high flow from magnaflow. Made specifically for diesels. Stand by and I'll get you a part number.......

Thanks, Adam. What I'm really interested in knowing is whether or not it's worth removing for a Magnaflow muffler. I'm hoping that I would get better flow and sound attenuation with the muffler as opposed to the cat.

Did yours come with a cat from the factory? When did they start that?
alot of them did...im not sure if it was based on weight or location or what
my 97 and e99 did but my buddys 99.5 did not
and a few of my fleet vehicles did and did not

My e99 did but I guess I lost it along the road or something because it is all straight pipe now!

It will help a lot, and get rid of the stack drone too. I'll look one up for ya, and dust off the estimate for the gears too lol.
Most of those that did iirc were west coast truck, but got shipped everywhere. Most if the ones out here are catless, but muffled.
