Where can you get one balanced? I need to lengthen mine for a zf-5 swap and don't know where to take it to get balanced, or if i even need to since I'm only lengthening the front section (pre-carrier bearing)

The balancing will be cheap.

As far as lengthening.....any "good" shop won't add material, they'll build a new front shaft...if they can reuse the yokes that will cut down cost but your probably looking minimum $250-300

Like said above definitely get it balanced and dont do it yourself, I got the rear driveshaft lengthened and the front one shortened, both balanced, and including a whole new front shaft on the front driveshaft for $189.00

Price must vary with location, no driveline shop around here would come near that price

That sounds like the good friend discount to me. I do know prices can vary substantial especially where real estate prices have huge differences but thats seem like less than 1/2 the cost typical for that work in your typical suburban area.

Yeah I was very surprised how cheap it was. Work was done at driveline one in columbus, oh. they had it done in 3 days and it fit perfect. I never had met any of the guys that work there before actually, but Jason (hotrodtractor) suggested them and Im glad he did!

At those prices it may be worth for me to ship and pay both ways. The only issue is if there a problem.
