So I changed them today. About 12,000 on the old set. Gonna change these new ones at 10,000. Went smooth, took about 30 min. Gonna upload pictures.
Have some questions from the pictures.
Do the filters look good to have 12,000 miles on them?
Found a fine layer of gunk at the bottom of the engine filter. Is this normal? (BTW I think my high pressure pump is going out) I didn't see any metal shavings tho.
The frame filter was had a good amount of gunk in it. Is that normal? Also the lid had what looked like rust in it? Not sure.

Just want some input to make sure everything seems to be going okay with the results I got. Thanks guys.

I went with Valvoline Extreme Blue this time, with a Motorcraft filter. I need to buy my filters somewhere else tho, $24 is a bit steep.

That lid and inside the frame rail filter assembly look awful...where do you get your fuel? One particular place? If so I would switch places. I've never see. Rust on a lid Ive pulled of and never seen that much slime build up either

Mine look similar when I change them. Going to use diesel kleen in every tank this time and see if that makes a difference.

Jesus I went 20k and didn't look that bad change them once a month and go somewhere else for fuel. Good god that's woeful go buy a new cap for the frame rail filter and change them again. That crap fuel and filters is your problem slowly killing your hpfp. I changed my 6.4 every 5k miles personally.

I normally get fuel at a BP, now shell station. I'm gonna swap to a pilot here in town. Ive always used diesel kleen in every tank for the last 16,000 miles.

Why should I change the filter cap? Seems odd to me. I wiped the lid down clean after I took it off. the same with the inside of the filer housing.

Also my filters are always motorcraft. Isnt that what you are suppose to put in these trucks.
