so i am taking the chrome rock guard sticky crap off of the bottoms of my doors and box. the chrome strip itself came off extremely easy, but it left all the adhesive on the truck. i can not get that crap off. have tried brake clean, wax and grease remover, and a 3m adhesive remover, none of it is getting me anywhere. its taken me over 2 hours to get 2 feet done...is there something that works that i dont know about?

Look up an Eraser wheel. It goes on the end of a drill or a die grinder. Works GREAT on that stuff but you have to be careful not to leave it in the same spot for to long. I used that first. After that I used 3000 grit sandpaper on a palm sander and went over everywhere I hit it with an eraser wheel (Not necessary but if theres any lines or anything that are hard to get it will take them off, also be sure not to stay in the same place for to long) Then went over it with a cloth buffing wheel and some good rubbing compound. It looked like there was never anything there.

I've never heard of an eraser wheel. I have had good luck with the 3m adhesive remover. White spray can red lettering.

I got that 3m stuff accept in a quart size tin, I suppose maybe the spray would work better because it would maye mist and soak in? Not sure. But how does the eraser wheel not get clogged up? This adhesive is a mm thick...and I stills got 3.5 doors to do.

Oh, haha. I'll pick one up after work. That's kinda the last option I got other than rub my thumb on the **** until It comes off...

Eraser wheel. Everything else is a waiste of time. Got it all off, still took about 2 hours, but works better than anything.
