On our way to Jersey and in western PA yesterday on the last leg of a 4700 mile trip pulling the fifth wheel and we decide to pull into a rest area. Truck had been running great the whole time except for the hiccup related to the CAC pipe. Shut the truck down, go inside, come out and start her up. Notice a CEL. Pull out the scanner and retrieve a P0191, fuel rail pressure sensor. Truck had been running fine so I clear the code and we're on our way. Stop one last time, come back to the truck, start her up, P0191 again. Clear the code again. Truck runs absolutely fine all the way home. H&S tuner had been set to "mild" the entire trip. Any ideas? Thanks.

most likely its a faulty sensor. it could be a plugged pressure valve but that usually throws the p0088 . id start by swapping the sensor , especially since its running well.

Thanks...I have been hoping that's the problem but I didn't want to throw parts at it without having a little more confidence that the sensor was the culprit, especially since I haven't been able to find any other reference to an issue like this one.

I think the reason you haven't seen anything is it may simply be just that sensor. I'll wait to see the more experienced people, of they agree or not, then we'll see LOL

I was getting a p0088 with my truck came up once cleared it. A few weeks later it came back and the truck would run for 5 minutes, rail would fall off and the truck would die.

Replaced the pressure sensor in the rail been good since.
