Going off the previous thread of how I fell into two free 12" Xplod's I'm now onto the part of buying an amp, a wiring kit, and buying materials to build a box.

Huge thanks to Josh(jdc753) for putting up with my BS texts for stupid questions.. And for drawing up a box for them with the max dimensions I gave him on CAD :toast:

On to why I made this thread.. thanks to his guidance, I narrowed it down to 3 amps. Two would be bridged to the subs and another in series(?).. But I have bothered him enough so if he decides to help me in this thread too it's his fault :D Which would you guys recommend?

The Rockford Fosgate would be the one wired in series(?)... But I think I chose the wrong one to do this with.. It says 150W @ 4 ohms x 1.... If I used this to power the two subs, wouldn't it break that power down again?

Leaning toward the Pioneer. All of this is gonna be low budget(within reason).. My cap is pretty much $200 so that's why I'm trying to keep these under $150, leaving ~$50 for a wiring kit. Dynamat or something similar might find its way into the order, but who knows

Thanks in advance!

Lowes/Home depot should be in the $25 range per 4x8 sheet last I looked. Might be cheaper at a lumber yard but couple bucks vs convenience.

I'll post up some pics of the box later on. How are you're wood working skills?

Here are your wiring diagrams...

For a mono block amp, something pushing out 3-400 RMS @ 2ohm

and for your 4-channel options, something pushing out 150-200 RMS WHEN bridged down to 2 channels at 4ohm

Each sub will go to it's own pair of channels, you use 1 positive from channel 1 and 1 negative from channel 2 for subwoofer #1 and then 1 positive from channel 3 and 1 negative from channel 4 for subwoofer #2, and make sure the switch on the amp is flipped for bridging or 2-channel mode.
