I have a precision 88mm feeding a modified 2015 turbo and so far I'm happy with the results. I would say a 2015 turbo with a thrust bearing upgrade is easily as durable as an s300, it's seen lots of nitrous and now a big atmosphere charger and still zero shaft play. That's with just one small wastegate controlling drive pressure. You could definitely get away with a small s300 charger as a high pressure and it would tow fine and keep egt's in check but it'll have more flat spots and you may have to work the tap shifter more.. it's all preference I personally like the vgt chargers a lot.
