Alright, so at this point in time I had planned on doing a 62/75 compound set up, but for lack of knowledge and resources, I really didn't want to jump into this and be way over my head. I want to make this thread for people with compound set ups to dump info, advice, problems they have encountered, what ever will help out for the people that in the future will want to do a compound set up. Also for people seeking information or who have questions.
At first, when thinking about compound set ups, i was thinking just throw another turbo under the hood...quickly figured out that there is much more than that, and I think that quite a bit of people, including myself dont really know what it takes.
Detailed lists, explanations, pictures...the more the better!
One thing that I never really got was wastegates. What size, where does it go? Things like that. Even the pipe routing. Info on the low pressure oil drain, what location works best, what doesnt, sizes...recommendations on where and how to make a LP mount, what materials to use when fabricating and where to get materials/parts from. I personally, dont have any custom diesel shops anywhere around me, so doing something like this im all alone on. Where would I purchase stainless for the CAC pipes? is T-304 good stuff to use, if not what? You can see where I am going with all of this. Like I said, I want this thread to be a good reference for people looking to get into the world of compounds.
What I would like to have the most information possible on, is a reliable (as much as possible), daily driver set up. Something that would spool quick, have good street manners, and still be able to tow.
I really didnt want to wear my welcome out asking one person a thousand and a half questions, so I figure this would be a better way to help myself as well as other people. So please take some time and throw some information on here!
