Coolant Leak

My Dad has a Job 1 6.4l with an intermittent coolant leak. Being that I've already been down the radiator route with mine, this is definitely not the issue. The last couple of months he has noticed a small puddle of coolant on the garage floor leaking about dead center of the motor, approximately two to three tablespoons. Today I asked him to look at the fuel coolant level and when he removed the cap some coolant drained from the overflow line. What would cause this?

He lives about 1800 mile away and the truck is out of warranty so I'm not physical able to look at the truck.

Check the upper coolant hose from the rad to the motor, is the end on the motor black or white? Black is the original and the white is a revised version with 2 o rings for better sealing, fixed my leak.
