Before I take a long hot 3,500 mile cross country trip in my 6.4 I was thinking of doing some preventive maintenance. I changed the oil, fuel filters, and had Ford "hot flush" 17 quarts of trans fluid through the old 5r110.

A the recommendation of another thread I got some of the CoolTrack test strips and did a dip test. Hows this look? Anybody else done this?

Im seeing threads recommending that if the level is between 300-800ppm add 32oz of to add Motorcraft VC-8 Supplemental Coolant Additive. Is the 8.0 on my bottle simply mean 800ppm?

I ordered a bottle just incase.

You are looking at the pH. A pH of 7 is neutral. A pH less than 7 is acidic. A pH greater than 7 is basic. I think you need to go by the other pad on the test.

I don't know about that, If you look on the bottle it says the "pH pad is closest to the handle" the pad furthest from the handle is the coolant freezing point, which I don't really care about.
