Got around to making a video on this common complaint finally. Usually very frustrating as it can be intermittent more often than just totally inoperative. The number one cause of the cruise not working is the brake pressure deactivator switch. In this video I show you a simple way to test it as it is the first thing I look at when a car comes in the shop with cruise control issues. Hope this helps.

Will this deactivator switch cause an intermittent ABS light as well? Hopefully this fixes both the ABS and my cruise issue.

I know it will on the explorers but have never seen it set an abs light on the superduty. All you can do is change what test bad and go from there. Rear diff sensors are common on the superduty and they may fail intermittently too.

Yes the rear diff speed sensor is what feeds the abs module the vehicle speed and they fail quite often.

Gotta try that since mine isn't working. I think more is related to the clock spring since the horn doesn't work and I have an airbag light on, light also stays on when ignition is off

watching the video, you can unscrew it and test it on the bench, correct?

i have a P0703 brake circuit input A code, and my cruise dont work, so i'm searching around here for possible solutions.

I'd be willing to bet that's your problem. It's quite common. I didn't waste time testing it.

My cruise started acting up in my truck (08 f250 6.4) a while back. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't. It finally quit all together and started throwing a P040d code for that brake switch on the master cylinder. When I had my batteries unhooked to do my deletes and exhaust and hooked them back up it started working again for about a week or so. I bought the switch along with a couple other sensors last week (egt, wif) haven't installed them yet. Hopefully will get time tomorrow and that's all that's wrong.
