I'm running a H&S Black Maxx with deletes and looking into custom tunes. I'm not sure if maybe I could just get MCC Unlock and make the adjustments myself. But I'm wanting a tune that starts the truck in 2nd gear because I hate how low first gear is around town driving. As soon as I touch the throttle it has to shift, completely useless without a load behind it. So my question is if I buy MCC then could I tune the trans to not use 1st gear unless I have Tow/Haul on?? Also is there any adjustment that would allow the torque converter to lock in any gear if over say 65% throttle? Maybe someone can write me a tune like this?

best bet would be mcc unlock and TSD or Gearhead tunes. I can sell you all in one go , and either can provide you a trans file that shuts off 1st gear with tow haul button .

Gearhead's tunes ran great on my 2012... There's only so much air and fuel available on a stock truck, so there's not a huge bump in power. It was definitely a noticeable improvement though, and the transmission tune was spot on!

I sell the tunes as better low end, better throttle response, less smoke output, better trans shift and driving characteristics, and a bit more power up top.

Another vote for Gearhead, makes more power, less smoke, and the transmission shifts are perfect!!

what is the purpose of locking out 1st?

live life full throttle

My purpose for locking it out is because my town has a lot of stoplights close together and it never fails every time I get almost to a stop the light turns green and I touch the throttle the truck goes into 1st gear for a split second and then shifts into 2nd. I hate that. I've also heard that starting in 2nd makes for faster track times. I know that doesn't matter to some but my truck will see the track once it warms up and opens.

Why not just shift it manually while in town? Cheaper option anyway

You could do it this way but if you have the tunes all you gotta do is ask Matt it beats putting it into manual mode and shifting manually every single time.
