D66 for 97 stick

I just bought a 97 with a 5 speed. It is bone stock. I'm turning it into my toe right to haul my gas pulling truck to the track. My cousin has a D66 turbo laying around that I'm thinking about getting. I'm going to be hauling around 8-10,000lbs. Going to be sowing the basics for now exhaust intake chip. Is the D66 a decent choice with stock injectors or should I go bigger.

D66 is laggy.
I mean if he'll give it to you cheap, resell it.
Go t4, or do a drop in turbo like the kc38r.

I have everything to go to a t-4 set up its off a van and would be running a van turbo is that gonna be okay when it comes to towing as well?

I think you're thinking of different things. Unless you have a t4 setup for a van?
Sounds like you're talking about a SD van turbo though.

No, D66 was awful for a stick and towing, hated it
