So the 96 I just picked up has a Dana 60 in front, the truck is an F250 4x4 powerstroke, was this factory? Because a buddy says it should have IFS instead of straight axle up front??????

It might be stock if you live in an alternate universe where Ford put Dana 60's in 250's and 350's and a Dana 44 or custom 9 inch in the 150's. Are you sure it is a 96 because if you are really living in an alternate universe it may be an 06 since there Ford would never have gotten rid of the OBS and 7.3.

Though sadly I think you live with the rest of us and you have a 250 with a 60 swapped in since it would have come with a ttb D50.

Ok dumb question but what does TTB stand for? I'm new to this truck stuff ive owned 48 mustangs(yes 48!!), 2 trans ams, and currently 2 ford falcons, I just don't know all the lingo about trucks yet, and I'm GUESSing it's a Dana 60 cause that's what people have told me it has, could it be something else?

TTB = Big 'ole POS

It was Ford's version of independent suspension. Under the weight of the Powerstroke they were known to wear out bushings quickly. My '97 had a TTB changed at 110k miles. The truck was my father's truck and the 110k were daily driver miles never towing anything heavy, working hard, etc. It was completely wore out.
