Deleting Cat on 04 6.0

I'm gonna hack the cat off the truck and put a straight pipe in it. Will that throw any codes? I'm prepping it for the durastroke turbo from madpowerstroke. It'll be a shop doing it but I just wanted to make sure first. Thanks in advance

Assuming there's no cat inspection in The Great Republic, there's no reason you can't go with a delete pipe. If, on the other hand you're unfortunate enough to live in a place like New Joisey ....well that's another thing altogether.

I've considered doing this as well as a temporary substitute to a full Turbo Back exhaust. May poke around and see if the local shops have 3.5"...doubtful, but they might.

That's what I'm talking about. I realized just how wicked mine is with the rear slider open taking a video for another thread. The neighbors are privelaged to hear that awesomeness

Don't clean out your cat and put it back in. It is better to take it off and hold onto it. If you ever need to put one back on it sucks to buy a new one

Whats the best way to get the cat off? Soak the bolts with pb blaster or just chop it off and weld it back?

Disregard, just crawled under the truck and found the bolts to the cat not seized up. Will be pulling the cat tomorrow and going to work on it!

Unbolt it and some of the hangars. Then wiggle tha m-fer out
