diagnostic help please

Trying to help a friend with his truck. 08 job 2-3 100k miles bone stock. Lost an injector and drove the last few miles back to his shop. His shop mechanic put 8 rebuilt injectors into it and now it is running very bad. Shows misfire cyl 2. Blow by does not seem nearly bad enough to be a bad piston. It sounds like there is a compression leak under the driver side valve cover. Curious if maybe the injector is not seated properly? oil is a little high which I assume is from the bad injector. coolant looks good. I plan to check compression tomorrow. I will also have a snap on solus pro to use, but I have not used one and not positive what to check for. Just trying to figure out as much as possible before I start pulling things apart. I was hoping it would be a mistake from the person that swapped the injectors.

Rebuilt injectors from where? Probably junk injectors or its one isn't seated well or the copper came off.

not sure on the injectors. This all happen early spring. Truck has been sitting since. They can't figure out where they got the injectors from. I just have a feeling the person that changed the injectors did not know what he was doing. I asked what things were torqued to and got blank stares. Not that this is my cup of tea but I have done a lot of work on 6.0's with very good luck at this point

Lost an injector, like just not firing or lost like was trying to hydrolock? And agreed on who's rebuild on injectors? I'm just assuming cyl2 was the injector that had the problem?

lost as in dumping fuel. I also don't know what injector went bad. They just assumed a bad injector and changed all of them. I was told it was smoking bad but still idling ok. Currently smoke free. Idling around 750rpms but it has a good shake to it. Hoping is not a bend rod.

Him driving it the last few miles while dumping fuel probably took care of it. More then likely a bent rod or cracked piston if it was dumping fuel.

Knowing what injector it was before replacing all 8 would have been nice, but I'd dig deeper into that engine before spending much $$ on it. JMO.

Trying to figure out the issues is the main goal. The truck has been parked for the year because a new motor is completely out of range. I told him to bring it over and see what we can figure out
