I havent seen a bowl with oil mixed in it before, but that looks the same as my bowl full of fuel when it was on there.

i wouldnt worry about it as long as its not a ton of smoke. pretty much all 7.3's smoke some on startup. some oil consumption is normal also i burn around 1-1.5 qts per 5k i wouldnt worry about 2 qts in 700k LOL

If you are only using 2 qts in 700,000 miles, you are doing pretty good, LOL.
Sorry just had to do it.

Your bowl looks just fine. Although that oil loss is considered normal by international, do you have any oil in the valley? Tailpipe? Have you modified your CCV?

Sorry not 700,000k lol. I mean 700 km of driving. No oil in the valley or tailpipe. Yes my ccv dumps by a 3/4 heater hose under neath the bed.

So 2-2.5 quarts of oil consumption in 700 kilometres of driving is Normal?

My parents truck ( a 7.3 too) Uses nothing between oil changes.

some oil use is to be expected, but thats excessive, 700km is about 440 miles, something is wrong there, somebody who knows more will chime in with better advive

I took off the oil filler cap and put it on the filler tube. Started the motor and the cap DID NOT blow off. There is zero external oil leaks on the motor. New oil pan etc.

Will leaking valve seals cause this?. Can injectors leak oil internally?.

Even with a chip the engine seems very lacking in power. I may do a compression test.

I would suspect injector orings way before valve train issues.

311,000 kilometres on the truck, eh. I replaced the injector o-rings with new alliant ones about 2k ago. Does my fuel in the bowl look like i might of nicked an o-ring or something?

No oil in turbo inlet, tailpipe, no oil condensation on the back of the compressor housing.

On a side note. When you guys have replaced your injector o-rings how do you put the new o-rings on the injector? Do you use a o-ring pick? Also do you just put a light coat of oil on the injectors before putting them in or do you submerge them in oil for 5 minutes before?

I just roll the orings on with my fingertips. Oil the oring and slide it on then oil the injector as a whole and pop it in the bore.

hmmm i used a pick to put em on. I wonder if i nicked an o-ring or 2.

I can pick up an alliant set from riffraff diesel for 60$. I might just buy another set and do them again to be sure. Probably replace some glowplugs too. But i wont go through with it until i do a compression test.
