Dome light will not go off

This started about a month ago. I went up to a red light and when my truck got below 10mph my dome light turned on. When I accelerated and got above 10mph it would turn off. It continually did this until I turned the truck off and the dome light stayed on. I disconnected battery cables hoping this would fix the problem, it didnt. I drove it home and when I parked it the dome light didnt go on. It has been fine for about a month. Two days ago, I was washing my truck and I got back in it and my dome light would not turn off again. It stays on all the time and does not seem to want to go off. So last night I was working in the shop just keeping an eye on my truck to see if it would go off and it finally did after about 30min. The problem went away for a lil while but as I pulled up to a red light it went back on and stayed on. Any ideas???? No lights on the dash on. Im going to take the instrument cluster apart and see if the door ajar bulb is burnt out.

Lots of it. And then open and close the doors 47 times. The last three times stand only on your left foot. The last time you also have to rub your belly with your right hand.

Don't laugh. It works.

Sent from my truck while eating, adjusting the radio and passing a Mustang sideways.

LOL

Spray the mechanisms in all doors with WD-40, or whatever you have, open and close the doors a few times and work the inside and outside door handles..

I had the same problem, couldn't figure out what was wrong. So if you do, let me know.
For now I just pulled the bulb out.

I think there is a relay in the instrument cluster that can cause this. Mine has had a few second delay turning on when it turn the truck off. I hear a click from the cluster then the light goes on. Your relay could be stuck on.

There are three or four relays against the firewall, behind the radio. Real fun to get to. Not sure what they do, but it would not surprise me if that was one of them. Pull them out till the dome light goes out, you just found it. They are all the same common relay that is found all over our trucks.
