Dorman exhaust manifolds, anyone use them?

I finally got the driver's side manifold replaced. It took two hours, start to finish. I love living on the west coast, no salt on the roads! None of the bolts were stuck. The uppipe was leaking at the joint, ironically that was rusted/deteriorated and causing the leak and three of the four cylinders were leaking. First start up and I could hear a difference. The passenger side is next.

The Dorman manifold is well made and appears to be the same thickness as the OEM. Weight felt the same and all of the holes lined up fine. It's a good alternative to OEM if you are looking to save some money.

The truck is so much better with the leaks fixed. It's amazing The difference this makes. Check your manifolds and up pipes!

nice-- I'm sure some strange little ticks are coming from leaky manifolds. If and when the clutch comes out, exhaust plumbing upgrades are goin in...

Hmm....I've had what I thought was an exhaust leak for awhile because of the tick tick tick sound at low throttle cruising speeds....when I looked I didnt see anything. How did you know yours were leaking? And how's the quality on the dormans?

To find the leaks look for soot at the joints.

Quality is good.

Stock manifolds don't have gaskets, correct? if the stocker is flat and no issues otherwise, wouldn't they seal with just gaskets?

You could also check the manifolds at cold start. Depending on how cold it is, disable to GPR. If you have a leak you should be able to see puffs of white smoke from where the manifolds mate to the block, or up-pipe to manifold junctions.
