DPF on tunes?

I recently purchased my first diesel a few months ago with the intentions of deleting it. Circumstances have changed and I now want to tune with the DPF on. Who writes the best DPF tunes? What is the best intake to use with a DPF on truck and tune?

I have a CTS Insight for monitoring and a X4 7015 for tuning. All I need now are tunes and CAI.

How are the canned SCT tunes? Can I run them until I get custom tunes? I assume they are very safe and very dull.

Sorry for all the questions, thanks for all the help.

I will. I know Mike at 5 star is the go to guy for Ecoboost and 6.2. They have a 6.7 dpf tune too. Does anybody know if it's any good?

X2 for Eric at innovative. He has been tuning everything I own for 11 years zero issues. Including Deranged when I built it. Mike is a great guy too and consider him like a brother. I have not ran his tunes but have never heard anything negative about them and he is top notch with service. I am new to the 6.7 and have had others write great tunes on my 6.0 but I don't know if they do 6.7 stuff. Lots of options to chose from.

I only mentioned Mike because I just came from a tuned 6.2 and still find myself living in the F150 days. If Eric is the guy for 6.7s, I'll give him a call after the first.

I only need 2 tunes, street and tow. No race and both tuned to be more safe than anything.

Does anybody know anything about the canned SCT tunes? Am I good to run them for a few weeks till I get my custom tunes?

dont know if the year matters or not but my 12 runs a lil better on the canned stock strategy street tune from the sct sf3/x3... its delete capable and will be doing so the end of this week... if your not going to delete it. the stock air box is fine.... my sct is from rudys but have no idea who writes their delete tunes... also, i dont think anyone does custom emissions on tuning.. i could be wrong though.

My 250 is a 2011. It appears that innovative and 5 star do emission on tuning. I have an X4 but the canned tunes should be close to the canned tunes on your X3. I'll try running them for a while unless someone says not to. I know canned tunes are usually ****, but I hope they are safe.

My SCT showed up after I left work yesterday or I'd be loading Innovative's tunes now. I know there's a lot of good tuners out there but I don't know all of them personally. I've known Eric since 2004 when he tuned my 6.0 and I trust his experience.

I use custom tuning from innovative for DPF on stuff. He has it pretty nailed down as far as power and drivability goes. Anything beyond a factory charger though, will require some additional modifications and tuning tweaks. That's been my experience so far. Of course most have no use for 580hp and emissons equipment on lol

Thanks everyone. Y'all have convinced me that Eric is who I need to get in touch with. I'll do it right after the first and report back with my results.

You won't regret it a bit. Let me know if I can help with any emissons friendly bolt ons. I have had some great results with my custom cold air intake kit and what not on my 15 so far

Yup. It's the road less traveled on the forum but you'd be surprised how many guys want more but don't want the headache or hassle of deletes.

The 64mm charger I have, with my gate kit, CCV kit, cold air intake kit and tuning, is absolutely a blast on the street and a total sleeper lol. It'll sneak up on anything quick and quiet lol
