Not that I'm aware, some guys have retrofit the SD version though. You can also get an ambulance package (or used to be able to) which included a Mitsubishi larger alternator. Or as a nuther alternative you can also get larger aftermarket alternators. Ours are called a "T" mount I believe. I wanted more juice so went with a Leece-Neville unit and iirc it's 200 amp have had it on since this summer and seems to be working fine. This winter will be the tell tale i'm thinking...

What are you thinking of running with Duals?

Well I would like the duals because my truck idles ALOT, and I have a hell of a power draw. My truck is like my office so I have a good sized power inverter for my laptop, and occasionally a printer. Also I have the hidden strobes and a lightbar. I also am lookin into updating my sound system. I'm not sure if its absolutely necessarily, but I don't think it would hurt. Whats your thoughts?

Gotcha on the idle and office space, with more power needed. Duals will work, but I think it takes a bit to do the conversion. Might have to switch the AC and top alternator to opposite sides (think thats what the SD's have) then the lower one goes on the passenger side. You might want to do a search on a big single thats what I did. Have two inverters a 1500 watt one under the front centre console seat and small 400 in the back. Plus e-air compressor, e-fans lots of draw stuff. So far really happy with 200 amp rating seems to keep up with what I have so far.

I was thinking the dual alternators on the SD had some PCM control to them.

I would go with the higher output single one and a AIC or a chip setting to up the idle. Also check with a alternator re builder and see what he can do to your existing one or even if he might have one that you can buy.

Mechman is the best when it comes to after market alternators.
DC Power makes amazing alts too.
Then Powermaster.

Go with a bigger single unit. Itll be a lot easier. MY old Powermaster 250 amp was direct bolt in.

After doing some research and reading what ya'll have to say I think I'm just going with a big single. I'm just feeling to lazy to switch it over to double especially since my demand is very minimal for a dual setup.
