Has anyone found a brand of tire (stock size) that will hold up more than 15,000 miles on the front of a dually? My dad and I both run a 2wd dually. His has maybe 145,000 miles, and he has replaced the fronts 5 times already I think. Continentals came on it from factory, and they have held up better than anything else he has tried. Yokohama, Michelin, general, master craft. Running Kumhos up front now that have maybe 5000 miles on them, and they are already wearing on the outsides. I've put 10,000 miles on my Continentals (were new when I bought the truck) and they are ready to be replaced. Obviously swapping the fronts from side to side doesn't do much. Only other thing I know is to actually break them down and swap tires with one off the back.

There has to be a tire that holds up better than this!

What model of Hankooks? I've never used them before on anything. I've had great luck in the past with Mastercraft and Firestone in E load range, but apparently they don't like that narrow rim.

If you have weird wear on the outter edges, you may want to consider new shocks.
Also to get good mileage, you will need to properly rotate them. Rotating will give you the best life.

I run BFG at's and I can get more than 15k. I have seen many other people claiming 30K+ on various tires. If you are not getting more than 15K, then something is wrong with your trucks. My posting is on 4wd's which should be way harder on tires than a 2wd

you still have to rotate tires from the rear to the front.... i put 55k on a set of michelin at2's and they are now on my regular cab.. put another 6-7k on them since. prolly another 10k left on them... and those are 285/75/16s... when they where on the dually i had them rotated every 10k... took the ones off the front and swapped them with both right tires... yes that requires mounting and dismounting all 4 tires. then after the next 10k i swapped them with the left side tires... forgot to add, thats with many smokey burnouts on them too..

live life full throttle
