So pretty dumb question. Do stacks provide any functional purposes or are they merely for aesthetics. I see a lot of the more built trucks with stacks so thought maybe it had to do with EGT if anything but to be honest not sure.

The more built trucks run them because with drag racing you dont wanna smoke the lights or launching parts of your turbo at people.... That part is also for sled pulling.

Exhaust is exhaust, performance differences in exhaust is non existent for the most part. Some sled pulling associations, and race tracks require turn up exhaust. That's where a stack would serve a purpose.

I just threw a stack on the other week and love it, I can't say if it made any difference itself but swapping out my MBRP muffler for a straight through race muffler did.

Also on drag trucks w/ lader bars, wide tires, tub's, ect... You eventually run out of room to run an exhaust over the axle. A stack is just simple and easy.
