Anyone know how I adjust it? Getting old having to leave it in gear. And it also means I can't start it and get out of the truck unless I'm on flat ground(Like letting the truck warm up before leaving work.)

Self adjusters are just that, right? I thought I read somewhere, but haven't felt it was right, so I never did it, that you back up to a good pace and hit the brake and it ramps them up... I'll add it to the list to tear them open this weekend..

Now I have to find the tool I had for the drum brake adjusters

If there not frozen up. Theres a lil rubber plug at the bottom u can pull and adj them from the back side of the drum. U can use regular tools for everything.

While they are suppose to be self adjusting I have found that the rears need adjustment every 20k miles or so. Considering they should be inspected every once in a while this ensures they are inspected.

I figure while we have the wheels off we might as well pull a drum.. I'll turn them up a little tonight. Turn them up until I feel them holding the wheels back slightly?(up on a jack free spinning)

I'll ask him tomorrow.. I'm sure he will, you're right

Yes tighten up till a slight drag is felt. Make sure not to get brake cleaner on the pads and use a vood brake lube on all moving parts. Good luck man.
