I've had my truck parked for a while due to some transmission issues and want to see what you guys think. I haven't had a chance to get it on a scanner but the symptoms are leading to a torque converter. The tranny still shifts fine, and all the gears are there. Just curious as to what you think and what i should check. Thanks in advance for the help

Truck is a 95, and the only mods i have are a Ts 6 pos, gauges and exhaust

Forgot to add that if I baby the truck, the tranny shifts fine with no slippage, but if I get on it more than half throttle, it slips. Im just ready to get this thing back on the road

Sounds like time for a rebuild in all reality if it only holds limited torque. Do not cheap out on the rebuild if you have more power plans in mind.

Thanks Tom, I have my transmission guy supposedly coming to look at it next week hopefully. I had hoped I would be able to limp it for a little while. But last week I went to do my weekly routine of driving it to the end of the road, half mile and back, it wouldn't go into gear. Looks like I'm loading it on the trailer and taking it to the shop this week.

And as far as cheaping out, the guy that builds my transmissions is hailed as the best around and very rarely puts stock parts back in

In adding to hopefully help someone with my E40d problem. In 2010 I pulled my fathers 35' trailer to Bear Lake to go camping. I had been working the truck pretty hard and I got upto 200* and then let it cool and waited to pull next hill for about 45 minutes.

So after that I changed trans filter and oil 3 times now. And last time I had found a torque converter that was good to put in hoping it was ok. ( didn't have any shifting issue and even thought about adding more power but now its got me worried.)

The problem I have is I slip at little to low throttle and it shifts awesome banging gears @ 3k rpm and 100% throttle. Even after it has warmed up. I cant decide between torque converter trans clutches or just the crappy ATF that went in it last time.?
