E4OD Wiring-Need a little help

I'm going to be installing a floor shifter into the pulling truck here pretty soon. I'm confused on a few wiring aspects of the task however, as wiring has never been my strong suit. So, I was hoping y'all could help me out.

First, I need to wiring the OD to a switch on the shifter, it's just a toggle switch with a LED light on the end to indicate when the overdrive is off. Now as far as I can tell, the switch is momentary, so how can I wire the existing switch into the toggle switch? Should I just take the existing three wires and hook them up to the accessory, 12v, and ground terminals on the toggle switch?

Next, the shifter has an optional park safety switch that can be ordered with it....which I did not order. Is the park safety switch wired external to the shifter linkage on the E4OD transmissions? Or is is part of the shifter linkage? The reason I ask is because the shifter comes with a whole new shift shaft, cable, and some new linkage assembly parts that need to be installed, so if the park safety is part of the current linkage it looks like I'll need to order the park safety switch as well. I know there's a little notch on the current linkage that needs to be lined up in neutral for the truck to start in that position, so I'm leaning towards the park safety being part of the current linkage.

I'll see if I can look up a wiring diagram on the o/d switch tomorrow, I don't know how it works.

As far as the park safety switch, I think it is in the steering column. So you should be good with just the cable going to the trans

Thanks man I'd appreciate it. Winter's didn't take the time to specify which applications need the switch, so it's a guessing game at this point how the truck will act once the shifter is in.

Tom I PM'd you, but I think I may have a grasp on the diagram. Will a toggle switch function properly with as a momentary switch?

The button turns the OD function on and off by momentarily supplying power to the Tan with White stripe wire. The PCM turns on the OD LED by supplying ground to the White with Light Green stripe wire. I do not think there is a likely a harm in using the toggle switch but if I could change it to a momentary switch that would be my preference. Someone used to make a box that force the trans to OD off by default as I recall if that is useful to you.

Thank you sir. I think I'm going to try finding a momentary switch for the time being. I'm going to talk to my tuner to see if cancelling the OD for good is something that can be done so I don't have to worry about it.

I would think that would be easy to do on the programming. Just set that shift point above what you would ever go.
