early 99?

Went with a buddy to check it out. Starter sounds like it hits a little harder than most. At idle has a wierd vibration and sound to go with it i think from the back of the motor. But goes away under acceleration... any thoughts?

The E99's were famous for noisy torque converters. If it hasn't been replaced thats a very likely suspect.

yea you can hear them rattle really bad in a drive through idling. sounds like bolts in a metal coffee can.

Yup very common tq converter rattle not a horrible fix, or detramental I drove like that for years and it never failed, I got a good deal(free) on the one I blew up.. but its a "forced" upgrade... do tq and a vb and you've got a solid trans.

Thers a few other problems with the truck so hes gonna pass i on it i hope.
